I heard on the Radio this morning that Ford are laying off 5000 workers.

More to do with the fact that FoE lost $2bn in 2018. The closures are Europe wide (and Russia & Turkey)

Well, if you lose money on every car you sell in Europe, last thing you want to do is sell more of them. They'll pass over cars to VW.

Its a funny world where a company like Tesla can have around double the market cap and only just be profitable and be valued as a tech company while Ford is apparently getting out of the car business according to the CEO.

A little depressingly both Bridgend & Dagenham diesel centre design and make engines for Transits, Commercial vehicles are the one profitable sector for FoE.
