Our house has what I believe are Forterra LBC Chiltern multi colour which I would describe as being varying shades of orange. The standard image of Forterra LBC Chiltern seems to match the house, albeit it the house brick is probably a bit lighter after having weathered.

However the bricks which arrived seems more red on the face but some of the back are more like the colour I was expecting. The bricklayer suggests the redder ones are wet and will become lighter in colour when they dry out. Does that seem right? Or is does this brick come in different colours?

I'm not excepting an exact match with existing (I know that's almost impossible off the shelf), and I know the new extension will be notably different - but worry because I don't want too stark a contrast if I can help it?

Stick the brick in the oven to dry it for a check, but I don't think it's anywhere close.

Quick update - it wasn't the same brick. Now when we bought the house there were 2 extensions which had previously been done - all with varying shades of colour. So I decided to just go with this rather than faf around trying to find the correct colour as even if I got the exact brick, it would look different given the house having weather for 50+ years.

I am however curious about brick tinting/ dying. I will look into it more once the extension works have finished.
