We have just had a new kitchen installed. We chose a Franke "pull-out" mixer tap + franke water filter, but now have problems. The flow rate isn't just slow it's more like a useless dribble, regardless of hor or cold water temperature.

The tap says it needs 4M of head of water, which I believe is about 2bar. We have a megaflow for hot water and our cold water is connected to mains. Our mains is about 3.5bar, checked during the kitchen installation. So we should have plenty of flow.

The kitchen installers have blamed it on our choice of tap and walked away. We now have no idea what to do. Is the tap faulty, and if so how do we prove it, or have the installers done something to affect the flow rate to the tap and how would we prove that?

4M is only 0.4 bar.
So either the tap is broken or my kitchen installers did something very bad? The flow rate is so bad that it takes a few seconds to fill up a desert spoon.

I have a plumber coming around to finish up our boiler replacement, so I hope he'll have some answers. Although personally I don't see what he can do to help, as it's very straight forward. Two pipes going up to a s single tap, what could the kitchen installers have done wrong?

They do have a little buttler + triflow filter coming off the same cold flow. The tri-flow filter is just for the little butler. Cold water and normal hot water should be able to flow freely to the main tap.

If the connection into taps are 'flexible hoses' can you see if these are kinked/tied into knots?

I would also be looking for debris blocking any isolation valves/spout outlets etc

I am sure that for the correct fee (extra tea/slice of cake etc...) a straightforward (no such thing in reality though) disconnection of the tap, then some rubber hoses onto the iso valves will test if there is enough water getting into the tap.

Try ringing Franke customer services, they should be able to help. Do you have the model number of the tap from the box it came in?

My wife rang, they suggested they could send around a Franke specialist plumber - although didn't state the cost.
