We fitted a new mixer tap in the kitchen. The cold flow is excellent, but the hot is poor. It was ok before. We've swapped the valves in the tap heads to see if one was faulty but still the same problem. Any ideas? Is it a faulty tap?

cylinder tank, though it was drained and we have not yet heated it again

theres good flow through opipes and to tap and when tap head is off as i said we changed the heads and valves but it didnt make any difference

so apart from your comments, you cant offer me any help then?

The tap you've fitted is not suitable for the low hot water pressures that are common in the UK. It's a very common problem - another aspect of rip-off Britain.

You`ve got a foreign High Pressure tap with restricted flow paths thru the valves  OK on Combi systems over here...no good on gravity

Thanks that's more informative. We are planning on fitting a combi so you reckon that will sort the problem?

why dont you just get rid of those ceramic disc taps and put a washer pair back?

much cheaper than a new boiler!, beware of combis only have one if its appropriate,
