FRIDGE/FREEZER Starting, but switch off immediately

FRIDGE/FREEZER Starting but switch off immediately.

It starts and then shuts down immediately. It is then down for a couple of minutes before it is trying to start again.

Any help?

I will have a guess thermal cut out on the compressor. Not a DIY job

frigadaire, 3 years old

change stat

It's not the stat. It's the thermal cutout on the compressor. Most likely cause is a stalled compressor and possibly a blockage in the system.
Expensive repair.
