it involves stripping the front wheel bearings and adjusting the preload on them when assembling.

i would suggest buying a haynes manual/comic. its outlined well there.

Hi can you tell me if it is the transit after the smiley one because I have just changed the brake discs on my 2000 transit so if it is the same model I will try and help.

Hi, excuse me jumping into someone post but I have a Y reg front wheel drive transit,
its the 260, (has a 2 litre tubo diesel engine) so wondered if your 2000 Transit was the same as mine.
I would appriciate your sharing your disc changing experiance with me.
I would like to know if changing the front brake discs is the same as on my Ctroen Xntia,
just a case of caliper off,
undo two set screws ,
remove disc,
and then try and remember what you took off, and the order of replacement.

Thanks,
Tim

Can anybody help? I have stripped the callipers and removed the 6 bolts holding the wheel stud flange to the brake disk, removed the drive shaft nut and the shaft floats in the splines but I cannot separate the wheel stud flange from the hub, is it friction fit and rusted in or am I missing something?
Any help appreciated

Thanks paul
