fused spur versus plug ?

I'm fitting under floor heating (Warmup) that's rated at 600W.
The brochure suggests using a RCD protected double pole fused spur, but with such a low current rating isn't a RCD protected socket adequate (obviously with 3A fuse plug) ?

Thanks...

Normally with the under floor heating all the cabling would be flushed in so terminating behind the fused spur keeps it looking neat and tidy.
The controller would be next to it with under floor heating cable and temperature probe terminated into the controller with the supply from your fused spur.

Be aware that electric floor heating comes within the scope of part p of building regulations

We fitted similar product off a fused spurwhich was fine as whole circuit is protected by 30ma RCD anyway.

Do remember not to run the temperature probe anywhere near the cable that connect Fused spur to thermostate as the cable temperature will affect the reading of the temp probe.

The probe is the weak link of the system so run it through a quite wide circumfernece conduit to the underfloor area so it can be extracted and replaced easily if it goes wrong.
