Gable end verge pointing

Hi, looking at a property and looking for roofers insight. The house was a bungalow that has had a 2nd floor put on 10 years ago. The verge pointing looks sort of ok on the front but poor on the back (see photos). How bad is it? The surveyor said 5k to remedy which I guess is mainly scaffolding.

Poor picture regardless don't get the surveyors mate to do the verge work (if that's all it is)

I think £5k is pointing the verge after they've renewed the whole roof.

I did mine in a day, twenty years ago.
 
And it fell out 19 years ago?:)

Nope, it's still as good as the day it was done. I made a guide frame out of lengths of angle, which sat on the tiles, a rope/counterbalance over the apex, started at the bottom and simply filled the frame between with mortar. Let it go off a while, then moved the frame up to do the next section with a fresh mix.
