Looking for some opinions and advice please.
Purchasing a 1980s house. Surveyor has recommended lateral restraint straps are fitted within loft space to gable wall in line with current building regs to prevent wind issues.
I have had someone do this. I anticipated horizontal straps to be fixed across several trusses (ideally with large noggins between the trusses also) and then bolted to the gable wall (ideally somehow on the external side).
From the attached photos of the installation, it appears instead twisted metal straps have been used and simply the large section bolted to the gable wall and then the small twisted end fixed with one or two fixings to a single small pre-existing noggin.
Is this effective and correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
