I am I the processes of purchasing an end of terrace house built in around 1970s

I have had a level 2 property survey, and one of the things that has come up is the gable internal gable wall.

The survey says
"The block-work to the gable was open-jointed and damaged with sections missing to the top. These should be replaced. 30 x 5mm mild steel down leg straps should be fitted, bolted to the gable, and double screwed to three adjacent trusses."

Whilst I will be looking at getting this repaired by a professional should the property sale go ahead, what does this job involve does this appear to be a major job such as removing the wall or just removing and replacing the damaged blocks.
Is there other things I should be investigating or would the surveyor have suggested further investigation if he thought it needed it.

Gable restraint straps would be a DIY job, I reckon:
Although I never got around to it. Still hasn't fallen down.
