Watching the local news last night, there was jubilation in the streets (of Rusholme, the "curry mile" of Manchester) involving a few thousand Libyans chomping at the bit to get home. This is good news and will create extra social housing due to vacated properties, and probably several jobs being released. Quite apart from any social welfare payments currently being provided (although, to be fair, I have no ieda if the "books balance" as it were) etc etc.
If it works out, then maybe we could extend the concept to other related members of ex-pat communities whose countries have been liberated
