HELP, when we switch our shower off, the water (cold), keeps running. We are having to turn of the water from the main stop cock under the sink. Can anyone help? :(

As is's a Gainsborough it's a plie of TAT

Have had this problem before- it is the cover not sitting on the push button thing.

With newer Gainsborough there is sometimes not a solenoid, and it is a (poorly designed) mechanical switch, which relies on an exactly level wall (as all our houses have :D )

It has gotten that bad I refuse to fit gainsborough showers if someone calls. 6 showers wired (5 failures in manufacture- in 4 years - been refusing to do them for last year)

Yes, indeed, Mr be is right. The covers are really fiddly to fit, especially if the shower has been tiled round, not under. If it does not fit exactly just so, the button does not line up with the spring-loaded plunger underneath.

Check the cable, especially if it is 10mm², as it can foul the lid when presenting it to the unit.
