Hi,

Rewired some bits on my Galaxy alarm and it all seemed okay, but now, we occasionally get an event when armed. The log says "High Res" on a door contact, but no other information.

What does this mean and is there an easy was to solve it?

I would check the wiring connections on that circuit. If you have a test meter, take the circuit wires out and with the door closed and your meter on the 2K setting with the door closed it should read between about 1.000 to 1.015

or you can remove the connections from the panel, on the circuit you wish to check and do it from there,

or go into engineer and use option 21 Display Zones, then the hash key will give you the circuit resistance and status

998 to 1150 will be ok for the earlier models (not G2 or G3)
998 to 1050 is the usual for the G2 and G3 range

hope this helps

(you could always change the resitors and or contact, dependant on age etc)

Thanks,

I opened the sensor and it's basically taped to resistors and the connector. I rewired it properly rather than linking to the old cable. It seemed ok on a quick test and tamper checked fine.

I will try the resistance check from the panel tonight (did not know you could do that).

If it still fails, I will change the sensor and resistors (I have a spare).

Could it be any interference on the cable. The cable runs next to TV, SAT and CAT5 cabling for almost the entire run?

it should not be interference from any of the above mate

if you get any further probs, just post em here and we will try to sort them fro you

Thanks Guys,

Replaced the sensor - the new one has connectors which are easier. I have screwed it on and it sits on 1000 ohm resistance but occasionally pops up to 1005. (1994 when open), but I did notice just once it go to 994 and then back up again.

It has not seemed to do that again - will that be a problem and is there any way to fix it?

Thanks again

Tony

no mate, you have fixed it,
fluctuations between resistances of a few ohms will not make any difference (unless it goes a we bit hi and stays there)

you have reapired your alarm system

you can now use it as normal, if you get any further problems just ask.
