Hi,

I have had a look around to see if there is a similar solution but as with many of the topics on here, each problem can have it's different solution.

As you can see from this image, I have a filler loop for the boiler and (on advice from another plumber) I occasionally disconnect the top connection on the loop to attach a hose fitting for my pressure washer however it is at the back of my garage and not too convenient to have to muck around with the loop when I want to top up the pressure on my boiler occasionally. Consequently I'd like to run a pipe to the front of garage, utilising this point in the system somehow.

I think I could connect another pipe to the top valve shown with a T and another value to connect the loop to but I am not convinced this is the best solution.

Ideally I would shut off the water and splice in a new T to run the new pipe from before the existing value but I can't seem to locate a stopcock for the house to switch off the supply to allow me to do this and don't think it's right (or legal?) to turn off the supply from the street.

Hope someone can help but if you need any more info (or for me to explain it better) and more pics, let me know.

Thanks
Chris

How many houses is your main supply stop cock controlling? if its only yours, i dont see why you can't turn it off.

Another solution is to use a professional pipe freezing kit, not any of the DIY stuff you get. It should give you enough time to cut into the pipe using appropriate pipe slicer and attach a fitting and iso valve.

the easiest way to do it is to leave the existing valve in, disconnect the filling loopfit a new tee and new valve into the horizontal section and reconnect the filling loop to the new valve when required (the filling loop should be disconnected and the pipe capped when not being used) from the branch of the new tee fit a new pipe to wherever you want the connection for the outside tap, this section should have a double check valve fitted, you should fit a valve on the new section as well to isolate the tap when required, i prefer to fit the valves at the tee end to allow full isolation of the supply pipe, but if access is limited then you can fit it at the tap end, although easier it will leave the supply to the tap live which is a frost risk, although the rest of the pipes are going to be live anyway
