Hi,
hoping for some advice, planning on building a garden wall across the bottom of my garden. The wall will be 1.8m x 10m. Then rendered when finished. Was going to use hollow blocks with vertical steel reinforcement inside. Don't really wants pillars, would ruin the look we are after.

Couple of things I could do with some help on :-
1 what is the distance between the steel bar & also what size would I need?
2 would it be best to add horizontal as well?

Would be very grateful for any help on this topic.
Many thanks

What is the look you are after - a slab of a wall with no returns etc?

Prolly go for a 9" hollow block with half inch rebar every metre or so with poured concrete filling.

The geeky engineer types will soon give you a better answer I'm sure.
