Have Gardtec 800 Series (don't know which exact model) and want to change the battery in the control panel and the bell box. I have a master code, and believe the engineer code is the same but don't know. My questions are 1) how can I check if the code I have is also the engineer code? 2) if I open the panel and/or bellboy to change the battery and the tamper alarm goes off do I need the engineer code or the master code to clear the tamper alarm. Thank you.

When you enter engineer code display will say ,do you want engineer mode ,if display doesn't show that then you do not have an engineers code.
Master code should reset tampers if programmed to do so. Only way to find out is put a tamper fault on system and see if code resets it.

Thanks for quick reply. If master code doesn't reset it what happens then - constant alarm until I can get somebody out?

No…if it was programmed for engineer reset on tamper , you would not be able to set the alarm after , your code would stop any internal/ external sounders …
