Gardz showing through after 3 coats!

I used gardz on some overly polished areas after plastering, and now 3 coats later it's still bloody showing through slightly! I'm using Dulux trade vinyl silk.

Does anyone know why this could be happening? Any point of a fourth coat?

What emulsion are you using? Some rubbush emulsions never cover well, even after five coats or so.

Emulsion on oil-based paint patches can remain patchy for a week or two, and it disappears.


However, there is the chance it MAY NOT.

In which case you may have to paint the whole wall with the gardz.
