I had a BG engineer in yesterday, as I seem to have a water leak, when the system is running. He had no idea where it was coming from, so did nothing!
He also said my boiler was due its annual service , which is not correct, but let that go. He said he had carried out the service, but didnt leave any paperwork that BG engineers usually leave. Also what bothers me is that the electrical boiler switch is downstairs (old boiler used to be downstairs) Boiler now on first floor, He didnt switch the power off, so how could he have given the boiler a full yearly service? Am I correct to question this?

Generally Bg don't service boilers in the traditional sense in line with most company's out there. What they do are perform safety checks in line with the GSU 26.9 regs similar to a mot on a car.
You need to expand on your leak issue. Is it a combi and your topping it up etc.
If your on Bg cover they will fix it if it breaks so traditional servicing is less important.
