Gas hob - permanent electrical connection?

Got a new Gorenje gas hob, and the installation instructions say it needs to be permanently wired into the mains, behind a double pole isolator.

Now, if that's what it says, I guess that's what I'll have to do - but why???? It only needs the power for the piezo lighters. My previous hob was just plugged into a regular socket with a 5A fuse.

A plug and socket is an excellent double pole isolator. Pull the plug and both poles are isolated.

No need to follow instructions to the letter especially when they are stupid.
