Good luck,maybe cancel the test (cooling off period) and monitor consumption over 6 months,if you can turn the gas off at the meter control valve when not needed(main cock) even better.
That leaves me with best part of £350 gas bill though ... you've been really helpful but did you read my initial post? Lol
In 18 years of this trade I've yet to come across an inaccurate meter. Note saying it's impossible, but......
I too, doubt that it will come back inaccurate given my research into the subject... just limited for what else could be the cause.
I live in a mid terrace; if it was theft, how the heck do I go about sourcing the problem?! I'd happily press charges if it ever came to that, but without digging up all my pipes I wouldn't know where to start .. :/

Have you called a gas engineer in to have a look?
