A certain major gas company subcontracted work out to fit my gas meter. Turns out the gas engineer didn't solder the pipes together leading to the pipes coming apart and leaking gas for who knows how long. Gas company and subcontractors are refusing to take blame. Anyone know who is at fault here?

They installed the meter so its there problem,
If you has called out a gas registered plumber he would have turned off your gas supply and issued a RIDDOR certificate and contacted the HSE.

This could of been fatal.

Transco came and soldered the pipe back together and reported it to HSE under RIDDOR Legislation. Still not getting any answers from supplier so have now took it to my local paper and maybe guilt them into apologising
