Gas pipe blockage

Now I am getting worried!

I had assumed that the boiler was existing and there when you bought the house.

Others are suggesting that the installer has fitted the boiler for you on a seriously substandard supply?

If that was the case then he is seriously substandard in how he does his work as it would be classed as immediately dangerous at the hob and the boiler!

Did the engineer turn off and label your boiler ?

We had the boiler and central heating system installed a year ago when we purchased the house, but didn't actually move in until last week. I'm starting to realise he was a cowboy, he never installed a room thermostat which i believe is building regulations isn't it?

The engineer that came from vaillant did label the boiler and turn it off.

The model is an ecotec 831 plus.

just an update i connected a compressor to the gas inlet at the boiler, disconnected the meter and blew out the pipes and there was an awful lot of crap in the pipe.

The running pressure is now upto 15.8. So I'm hoping that is enough to have the sticker taken off

How did you check the pressure after blowing the crap out ? And how did you test the gas pipe after you put everything back together ? You do realise that you shouldn't be doing this yourself (unless your'e GSR) and if anything happens the last GSR fitter could get the blame as he will be classed as last one to touch it.

Why are you worried about the safety warning notice on the boiler after what you have just done. What a blatant disregard for the safety of your family, home and neighbours. Prat!

This thread demonstrates why the forum rules do not permit giving advice on gas matters to DIYers.

15.8 mbar at the boiler needs to be clarified by quoting the pressure at the meter and saying EXACTLY where the pressure was measured at the boiler.

It is also required to be measured with the boiler on full power.

Strictly also to be measured with the hob/cooker also with all burners on at the same time.

It was a gas safe engineer that helped me do it and that tested the pressure so please do not assume that I'm an idiot and that i have put people in danger before having the full facts.
the boiler was was tested at the same points and in the same method as the vaillant engineer.
And lets not forget that it was a gas safe engineer that originally installed it substandard conditions.
Please do not assume that someone with out that accreditation cannot do things to the correct standards. My house was ripped back to bare brick in every room, most of the house was rewired, all plumbing replaced (ironically except the gas pipe). Walls knocked down, doors moved... 90% of this was all done by my self, and certified by others. Gas is one of the areas im happy to pay someone to help me. I was just unfortunate to get an idiot installer!
i came on this forum for help and advice, not to be talked down to by keyboard warriors. The forum is meant to help not hinder!
I am truly grateful for the people that given genuine advice. Thank you

would it be possible to run a PE pipe from the meter around the outside of your property to the boiler position then transfer to steel or copper to enter the building?

There was no mention at all of any gas reg person being involved with doing that. You wrote it as as "I"

You said "just an update i connected a compressor to the gas inlet at the boiler, disconnected the meter and blew out the pipes and there was an awful lot of crap in the pipe.

But you seem to have made a mistake with your posting!

If there really had been an RGI present then he could have decided to remove the sticker and put it back into service!

I have to say that I just don't believe you!
