Gas safe registered person needed to cap a gas pipe

Hi.

I live in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire.
I would like to find someone local that can cap a gas pipe that is protruding from the wall around 6 inches, it's been there a long time and i have no clue if it's live or dead......

From looking around the net i think it should be an easy job and hopefully less than £50 to do

Can anyone help please?

To be less than £50 would usually mean that you would need to have an engineer living close by.

You can search on the Gas safe website to see who is where.

Make sure you discuss costs BEFORE you call anyone as there are no laid down costs for gas work and its up to each business to choose how to charge.

Getting something like a boiler service done at the same time could help. I would check to see if its live for free if doing other work there.
