Gerrard to escape clink....

It was interesting listening to a few of the pundits on TV today stating how important it was that Gerrard continued to play.

The crux of their argument was how important Gerrard was to the team and the difference he could make to winning or losing.

Contrast this to some other industries where a person in a similar position may either be suspended awaiting the outcome, or they may choose to do the gentlemanly thing and take some time off until the situation was resolved one way or the other

This man should be dealt with by the police/courts as any other person would be dealt with regardless of his profession. His company should stand by him until all facts are known and the case has been heard or dismissed, at this point his employer should decide if he has brought shame on his company, if this is the case he should be dealt with accordingly, the most extreme action would be dismissal.

His company (Liverpool Football Club) would not dismiss their star player and captain, they may fine him a week or 2 weeks wages. At approx £120'000 per week

The FA may have a disrepute angle on it?...but in all fairness he might have been defending himself against some drunken lemon..

Indeed, Zampa, that might well be the case. He would have told the Liverpool FC execs his side of the story and consequently they have publicly given him their support. This suggests to me that this is a storm in a tea cup. Holding him in custody for that length of time, for what he was accused of, was ridiculous, unless he was waiting for his solicitor, and possibly the club's solicitor, to do the legal business.

ffs some of you guys would have him hung the very next day.........remember that old saying INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY ...nobody knows the facts and the truth will come out

Gutted we didnt draw them in the next round..
