Oops, forgot to check the undercarriage locks!

135 Boeing 737s have been written off following crashes!

i once took a flight to bulgaria with balkan airlines, tupolev 154 i think the plane was. two emergency exits over the wing and one was bolted shut with flat stainless bar and coachbolts

Probably because the wing had been condemmed as unsafe to stem onto !

Tony

i thought it more likely the door wasnt able to hold itself shut.

Well must say 5 minute job, i finally had the time to get round to doing it and i say more like a 3 minute job to change the valve itself, 10 minutes to drain and refill as well.
I found that when refilling the system with my new valve, oh yes it started to leak "ha ha ha" form the low pressure zone valve.
Scatman you may be right about the leaks!!!
Anyway, i ignored the leak and carried on filling to my desired pressure, as soon as i stopped filling the leak stopped. I'm guessing that the low pressure zone valve is like a one way valve with a diaphram in it?
Anyway it seems to have stopped fingers crossed.
Thanks for the input about the kit Jammert.
And thanks again guys for your help....
You can leave the airplane jokes though heard them all before, me i never fly far too dangerous ha ha ha.
But really we have among the best safety standards in the world.....
If your times up its up thats the way i look at it.... obviously if you get on a russian or third world aircraft where funds are low and engineering is below CAA/FAA/EASA standard you increase the odds considerably.
When they hit the ground at any speed usually high the life jacket doesn't do a lot !!!
cheers guys

I wonder how you would rate Air Zimbabwe?

They have a smaller plane making internal flights between Harare and Bulawayo. Because they have no fuel, they get the overseas plane filled up in Botswana and syphon the fuel out into the smaller plane!

Tony

Well tony,
At the end of the day fuel is fuel where it comes from it doesn't matter.
During maintenance checks aircraft are often defuelled and replenished with fuel from another aircraft, but i know what you're saying.
Its a bit like driving to the cheapest petrol station and filling up, the difference being you can fly anywhere to get cheaper fuel and servicing.
But how do i rate ??? rather them than me.
rik.

Thanks guys,
I'd like to add a lot of people on here have said bad things about my boiler but i've had no problem with it until now, and the plumber I had comission it said it was a good unit!
Rik.

It is a good boiler. The later models are anyway. The earlier models had problems with plastic hydro blocks and the likes. The new models are brass. The decent DHW temperature control the last time I looked, keeping it quite steady.

If they really were brass they would be bucking the trend!
