my boiler keeps cutting out after a short time. I think it may be the thermostat that in on the boiler, due to the fact that if you take it out the boiler stays on .The main room thermo makes no difference.

The boiler thermostat is there to control the temperature of the water leaving the boiler, It's supposed to cut in and out every now and then to maintain the boilers set temperature (usually 60-75 degrees C), that's how it works. It also prevents the boiler actually boiling the water and causing damage or burning someone.

Boiler will stay on if you remove the stat! Its there to detect the temperature of the water within the boiler and switch the burner off when the water is up to temp, removing it allows the boiler to keep heating which could potentially cause the boiler to explode so do not remove the stat!

I suspect you have a problem with heating or hot water, which is unlikely to be related to the boiler. Post back with whats not working and we'll try to help you.
