Hi,

Sorry to jump on this thread so late but you boys seem to know your Microns!

I have a Micron in a cupboard, that seems to cut out only when the door is closed. It's just had this cupboard built around it and is the downstairs toilet, so it's a fairly small space - no windows, just an extractor fan, and the door is always kept closed - could that have anything to do with it?

Seems to work fine with the cupboard door open though? Weird

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Does the reset light stay on solid? Do you have to switch it off and back on again? If so, it's overheating. Try turning the temp control knob on the front down a bit and see if it stops playing up. If it does, then you need to get the water moving faster through the boiler by either turning the pump speed up or removing any blockages which are restricting the flow.

My boiler did this (Micron 50FF), but it was also knocking, so I put some fernox boiler noise silencer in the system and it's sorted it.

Or, you could just leave it on a lower temp setting, but that isn't fixing the actual problem, just the symptoms.

Ben, this is an old thread which has been hyjacked!

To the hijacker! It sounds as if you have boxed in the boiler and not provided enough ventilation and thus causing it to overheat.

You need to read the manufacturer's instructions and modify the boxing to suit.

Currently its probably classed as At Risk ( or even Immediately Dangerous if you work for BG ).

...I'll have a look in the manual, at the correct spacing that I'm supposed to have around the boiler, and adjust the boxing accordingly.

Can anyone tell me what the "Blocking error" is please (alternating reset and burner on lights flashing) as noted in Mickyg's post ?
Boiler had new pcb last year.

Thanks,
A Lurker ( isn't that a type of dog ?)
