I defy anybody to translate this into UK English. The problem must be in the language used on this site informing the readers how to ask questions e.g. please provide make and model of appliance, etc.
I think the best thing to do is set up a US forum and put a load of answers in it. For example, trash it, shoot it, phone the repair man, go down to Wal-Mart and buy an new one. Then readers could post their questions against the answer and then their problem would be resolved straightaway. Nice and simple.
