Granolithic door step

I'm renovating a Victorian house where the exterior basement entrance has a fairly worn down threshold step. We'd like to bring it back to a square state and its been suggested i should look into granite chipping's, or granolithic concrete to achieve a very hard and pleasant finish.

This is entirely new to me and none of my local builders merchants stock a product like this...

Is anyone able to point me to some detailed advice on granolithic finishing.

Secondly, can anyone suggest either a London based supplier, or an online supplier of the necessary materials.

Many thanks
Mark

is the old step stone?

take it out and turn it upside-down.

Its a great idea :), but the step is very well imbedded and I really don't want to open that can of worms just yet...

Thanks
Mark

Anything you try and "stick on" may not adhere properly or be easily chipped off

You wont get Grano screed fine enough for this purpose - the chippings are too large to blend in

What about granite dust from a stone yard? My stonemason has suggested we could make a very hard mix using the waste from the stone cutting and if we keyed up the stone a little beforehand we will have good adherence.
