Gravel in Hotpoint Washing Machine

My washer had been standing for 6 months and I agve it to my sister. She ran a maintenance wash and water was leaking from the drawer and it was gritty. When we stopped it and opened the door it was full of gravel, what looked liked fish tank gravel

Can anyone shed a light on this its very weird

some kids threw a handfull of sand into it? How else would it have got there? Did you wash clothes after going to the beach 6 months ago?

No im always very carfful with clothes before I wash them its just so odd

Was it sitting somewhere where someone could of got to it, I.e a small child who thought it might be funny to put some gravel in the drum?

It was being stored in my utility room and ive not had any small children in the house so its not possible, I guess it will be one of those mysteries that never gets solve lol

Anyway its only good for the scrap man now as I can hear gravel when I turn the drum
