have you cleaned the quartz sleave?

if you didnt then i suggest that you do but be very careful, also are the filters them selves clean? (dont wash under tap water)

Once the balance of the pond has been upset it will take many weeks to settle, just keep the UV and filter running 24/7 and maybe think about putting some sort of shade over part (50%) of the pond. Something like nylon greenhouse shading would do the trick and not too expensive. Just be patient. ;)
 
Dig hole on sunny side of pond, stick bin liner in said hole, plant a Gunnera Manicata but only if you have the space. Its like a giant rhubarb, Ours has got 4 foot accross leaves this year and shades the pond nicely.[/url]

stuck aload of plants in...replaced the bulb...covered half the pond.....its slowly starting to clear....still greenish but more transparent than thick green................thanks everyone
 
Also make sure you have the correct amount of flow through the uv to much and it wont work right
 
barley straw is a debatable one, some swear by it, some swear at it.

it is not a replacement for a uv and filter.

so long as the correct size of uv, filter, pump etc are used they work everythime
