can I put some more grout on top of grout ?????? or do I have to pull it all out and start again.

The grout behind the shower is starting to go black, just in about 3 areas, about 2 inches long...........but I think it is because the guy who grouted it didn't put the grout flush to the tiles so they is a dip in the grout, I think if the grout was flush to the tiles it will be easier to clean and not get black...............

maybe a woman's thinking, but you never know it might work.............

you need to scrape the old grout out before starting, and you will never get it flush as when you clean it/ make it look pretty the top layer comes off.

is that an ok explanation for the lady???

Did you ever see that Father Ted episode in which he tries to get a small dent out of a car and ends up doing more and more until eventually the car is ruined? Doing a little bit of grout removal is a bit like that (well, in my experience anyway.) Before you start getting the stuff out, try a bit of bleach or Polycell mould killer. That will get rid of the surface blackness. If the mould is coming from underneath, it will come back pretty quickly and then you can have a go at tackling the grout removal.

When grout goes black like that, you can pretty much forget trying to clean it - the mould grows into the grout and discolours it. Scrape out the black bits and regrout those areas.

I mix polycell mould killer with it and it works a treat.
