Hi all,

In my mum's house the bedrooms have ceiling light pendant fittings with GU10 lamp holders. The other rooms have standard BC lamp holders. It seems that GU10 GLS bulbs are not widely available so looking to get the bedroom pendants changed to BC. But before doing that just wondering why they might be GU10 in the first place. It's a newish house about 10 years old.

Thanbks

Some years ago the government forced builders to fit bulb holders that would only take energy saving bulbs, some looked like standard BA22d but had a third lug, and also there was a special GU10 think called GU10L2 or something like that, and the LED or CFL version had a dimple in middle so tungsten would not fit. However these bulbs were expensive and are now hard to find.

Thanks very much Eric. I'll get them changed to BC holders. Can't find any GLS lamps with those GU10 type caps. A government own goal !!
