The handle on the stop cock for the washing machine has broken off in the on position so have no way of changing the washing machine other than turning off the water and the mains, is there some sort of quick fix for something like this like an easy isolation valve that can be fitted between the stopcock and the washing machine with the water on that doesnt require me to turn the water off at the main stopcock which is located in a horrendous spot behind some plasterboard and a tiny door?

If its just the plastic bit that's broken away, you can get a small spanner on the flats of the valve and isolate the machine as before. Maybe freezing the pipe would be the best way to install another isolator if needed?
