Hi, I am expecting a delivery of 5 heavy 2400x1200x15mm soundbloc plasterboards, 36kg each. The lorry will only deliver them in front of my house.
Is there any way to get them in my back garden alone? Any tips?

Find a friend - very difficult to manage on your own. Also suggest you buy a pair of plastic sheet carriers - they make the job a lot easier.

As it's only 5 sheets forget about the carriers - £18 is a bit steep for a one-off job - unless of course you have no friends - in which case go for one of the carriers - suggest you read the reviews

Hells bells man, it's difficult enough carrying the boards without trying to do fancy wheelie things on a skateboard at the same time

You should be able to carry them under your arm.

There are tote handles available to buy, but whether it's worth it, you'll have to decide

I just bought online a plastic carrier and I will try to do the job myself since all my friends will be at work. I may have some help in the evening but cannot leave the plasterboard outside all day...
Any other tips are welcome!!

Id carry them holding them by the narrowest point.

if bit much just take you time in stages

If you have the swinging room you can actually carry heavy 1.2m x 2.4m sheets on yer back a bit like a tortoise, with your arms pointing backward at around waist height.

Try it.

Under the arm is how I do it. Lay the sheet on its longest edge. Put your armpit over the point of balance, and clamp your elbow over it with your hand gripping on the top edge. Grip with the other hand in front, to steady it and lift.

Yes, easier with two

Cheers
Richard

I finally got the special tool and also gave a tip to the driver to help me. I must say that the tool works very well especially if you have to walk long distance holding the plasterboard.
Many thanks to all!!!!
