first check to see if the casing head is level.

if it isn't then bear in mind you may need to allow for this before removing any material from the bottom of the door.

if it's an internal door it will have a "lock" indicator, usually printed on the top edge of the door.

an absence of lock indicator usually means there are dual lock blocks.

if the door needs planing to fit, do the hinge side first.

if its more than 5mm share the planing on both hinge and latch sides.

be patient and remove small amounts of material at a time.

if the door "binds", you will need to fit the hinge side more accurately, particularly if the casing bows in or out.

you can never have enough powered hand tools when fitting a door.
