Justice! 8)

A mate of mine and his girlfriend got set upon by a group of 4 'happy slappers' a few years ago. Think they were about 16 - 17 yrs.

Thing is, he was a regional champion at kick boxing as well as other martial arts disciplines!

Put one of them in hospital with a broken jaw and sent the others off with various bruises about their bodies!

Police criticised him for being too violent!

As the old quandry goes; how much force is reasonable?

He justified it by; 'I was the one doing the defending. There was 4 times as many of them as me, so i only hit them 4 times as hard as they hit me!'

Old Bill didn't quite see his logic but let it slide as one of them had been caught a few times carrying a knife.

I think it would be difficult to get a prosecution against an individual defending themselves (without using a weapon of any kind) from 4 attackers ... Another matter if they pulled an automatic weapon and shot them all dead of course

It does get a little vague with certain people who are expert in self defence/martial arts though as they could be classed as weapons in their own right.

Bottom line is though ... The 4 lowlives deserved everything they got and perhaps they'll think twice now before having another go

seen one about a year ago where a happy slapper waiting at a train station and said to his mate filming it" the next guy to come out of the station is getting it" anyhow this guy walks out (looks as though just come off a building site) and the happy slapper walks over to him and gives him a really hard slap across the face...............................................the slapper turns to the camera to gloat when the victim given him a right hander tyson would have been proud of and decks this guy and mumbles something.........you can then hear the guy filming saying OH GOSH or words to that effect while trying to shove the phone in his pocket during a hasty get away
this is one happy slap film I could watch all day

I don't know about kick-boxing, but people with a license to train in a recognised martial art are taught to exercise control and restraint, not to break someone's jaw.

It's therefore unreasonable to do more than incapacitate an attacker, which can be very easily and without much damage when you know how.

Bottom line is though ... The 4 lowlives deserved everything they got and perhaps they'll think twice now before having another go
That isn't the bottom line - the bottom line is that everyone deserves the protection of the law, including the toe-rag that Tony Martin shot dead.

A few years back, my brother was walking home from the pub when a car pulled up and two bloke jumped out armed with lumps with wood. They headed straight for him, but one slipped on the mossy pavement and done the splits. He just rolled over screaming in agony and the other one went to his aid. My brother just stood there wondering wether he was going to get jumped or not. As it happens the two blokes drove off. A week later, same thing again - car pulls up and the same blokes jump out, but this time, they did kick the **** out of my brother. Trouble is, one drops his wallet with all his ID in it. Now when he was younger, he would of gone round and witha few freinds and sorted the fellas out. But cos he is " too old for this **** ", he calls the old bill. Only one of the blokes gets done and that is 2 months suspended. Six months later, my brother gets jumped again for 'grassing'. He then finds out he is the victim of mistaken identity, and thats why he was targeted in the first place. But because of the 'grassing' he is now constantly intimidated by the these guys when ever they see him. The police have asked him to put it all in a diary!!

Once you step outside of it, you give up your right to be protected by it. (Within reason) Getting shot up the harris with a shotgun is an occupational hazard for any burglar, especially if you're gonna go round doing farms.

I think Softus is just laying down the legalities. However, the law is an ass. The only good news is that some MP's are speaking up about how unfair the law is towards victims. Wether this will change anything is a different matter.
