Hey guys,

I've finished shuttering for a concrete slab.

I planned on 4" hardcore, and 4" concrete.

I've now realised I've dug out too much soil. I've thought about chucking a load back in, but then I thought would it do any harm just having extra hardcore?
I've got a hell of a lot from the brick shed and slab that I broke up before.

I've noticed compacting the soil with the wacker plate doesn't really work, where it glides along the rubble rather nicely.

Cheers

Do not backfill with excavated material, use hard core, and if you must use rubble initially, make sure you do an extra special job of filling voids and compacting thoroughly.
