Hi all
Im refurbing our en-suite and converting to a wc / wetroom. Ive removed all old tiling and plasterboard and refitted 12mm backerboard to take new Travetine tiles. The back wall of the wetroom i'm installing is an internal breezeblock wall.
I knocked of the old tiles, which were set on about a half inch of plaster. As Ive taken the old tiles off, lumps of the old plaster have come with them.
So i'm going to remove all of the old plaster back to the breezeblock.
Now i'm uncertain whether or not to a) line wall with 20mm straping at 400mm ctrs and fix 12mm backerboard, b) glue and screw 6mm backerboard (as per Hardie's suggestion) or c) clean, and seal breezeblock and fit tiles onto that.
any thoughts or recommendations?
