It's all swings and roundabouts.

No doubt if you had bought solder/compression plumbing fittings in your plumbers merchants, they would have been cheaper than the silly prices that Wickes charge for these items. They're prices are laughable.

Always pays to ask the merchants for a discount. They can only say no, but as mentioned - do it before you buy!

Problem is some merchants, especially the multiples, use their own inflated list prices. It looks like they are doing you a good deal, until you find out that their 60% is only 40% in real terms.

But even with a 60% discount, their stuff is near twice the price I can get it for elsewhere.
