Have we got time before 6th May to get this off the ground?

Thanks Lincs... you're so right... and kind of the end of my 'argument'. I realise i'm barking up a tree that doesn't exist. But i disagree so much with the government, and the next big party and the next one.. then you're amongst the loony parties... i really wish they'd all get together and 'want' to make britain better.. and not worry whether they're red or blue....

Personally i shall vote tory because

a) labour are a bunch of corrupt incompetent liars and it will be disasterous if they stay in

b) the tories are the only euroskeptic party, the only party that even recognises theres an immigrant problem and compared to labour, squeaky clean. And remember, the Tories created the economic boom that Labour took over and squandered.

c)Nick Clegg isnt the squeaky clean nice northern working class boy as he makes out, according to recent revelations, and apart from that he'll sell us down the river to the EU at the first opportunity. Apart from that theres no one in the LibDems with any relative younger than there Great Grandfathers who were last in government..........that was 1928

d) Hung parliament = financial markets panic, pound collapses, credit rating downgraded, and were a third world country for the next 50 years.

individual countries in Europe would stand no chance in a modern day war with these emerging powers... and what if we were to fall out with America..?

You're forgetting about NATO.
Which has been a formidable force in Europe for decades.
Any force an eu superstate cobbles together will never equal what NATO is capable of IMO.

How many of the G20 countries are balanced governments?

you give me a choice of a/b/c and i want d... why should i choose a,b or c?

i live in a democracy, a place where abstaining is a right, and people are allowed to openly discuss politics... so don't tell me i can't be bothered...
You don't have to vote for a,b or c, there's plenty others parties to vote for , just vote for the party nearest you're happy with bearing in mind we'll never be 100% happy with each party you're voted for. Don't waste your vote otherwise a,b and c couldn't care less, I'm not interested like you and still undecided therefore a floating voter at the moment but at least vote for someone to tell them you're not interested in the 3 major parties

Irrelevant. Our credit rating is based on the fact weve had a strong decisive majority government for 35 years. A minority government is largely incapable of being decisive, coalitions are by there nature fudge and compromise. A coalition government will cause confidence in us to collapse.

But, as i pointed out, the way the system works is you dont vote for parties, in reality you vote for or against the government, and if you dont want to vote for the government, any vote other than for the next largest party means the government will stay by default.

The voting system works properly with two main parties. Three main parties produces indecisive results and catastrophe. The last hung parliament we had was an abortion, and ended up with us grovelling to the IMF for a loan to get us out the crap.

The Labour government in 1976 went to the IMF ,the Lib/Lab pact was in 1977/78.

Remind me, what happened in 1979? Were they re-elected, or slung out of office for 18 years?

As Thatcher once said - "socialism is fine, until someone has to pay for it".

The only way you'll change it is to become the government, via the current system.
Yes why don't you stand for government Imam. Then when you're in govnment you can change things. ;)

You're right. If i felt strongly enough about it, then that really is the only way.

As for voting for the party that's 'nearest' to what i want.... they all say things i want. However, i'm not convinced any of them will do what they promise. The only two real options i think we all have is
a. more of the same
b. something different

and i really think it is that broad... if Labour win things will carry on pretty much the same dependant on the rest of the world, and of course Brussels. Whereas if the Tories win, then who knows what will happen... i doubt any of you can accurately predict how the country would be run by the Tories?!

If the Tories win they'll have their hands in the till before you can say 'sleaze'.

Help. They'll do a load of dodgy arms deals.

If the Tories win they'll have their hands in the till before you can say 'sleaze'.
And if Labour win, it will be business as usual for their expenses forms . Why, they'll even start claiming for the pen they use to fill the forms in with. (unless they already claim that)

The Limp Dems are no better. Lib Dem head office recently advised their MP's to claim as much as possible to help fund the election campaign. (all within the rules they reckon)
Now if that ain't sleaze,,,, I must be the bloody pope..
Espirito sancto ad nauseum. Bless you my child etc etc
;) ;) ;)
