Doing a rewire at the moment that has two cu's (lighting & power) exactly the same as that............oh yeh fused neutrals were the thing of the day so it seems.
Takes me back a bit (!) to my schooldays. The socket in my bedroom stopped working and I found that there was 250V between live and earth but no reading between live and neutral. Didn't know then about fused neutrals so for the next umpteen years until the (council) house was rewired my bedroom had an adaptor in the socket with a plug with earth and neutral shorted stuck in one side. Worked a treat.
