Hayfever

I do suffer quite badly, but, digits crossed, at the mo I'm OK.
I lived in Essex, worked in central London & suffered ever increasing problems with what I was told was “long season” hay fever over a 20 year period to the point where over counter medication no longer worked & I had to resort to prescription. I never really suffered with it until I started to work in London at the age of 25 but I never really gave it much thought or realised the significance! Then in 2004, I stopped working in London & moved here to rural Norfolk; within 6 months my “hay fever” was gone & has not returned a single year since, despite the far more pollen rich environment I now live in. I’m now convinced hay fever was not the source of my problems but the severe pollution I was being exposed to & that probably exists within a 50 mile radius of London & I’m sure it’s the case with many. I believe there is a certain amount of politically convenience in blaming the boom in allergies everyone now seems to suffer on “hay fever”.
i think i'll agree with Richard i use to suffer bad hayfever as a kid but as i got older it wore off now i just suffer pollen asthma.

I used to get it really bad - despite the desensitising injections - then I got a break for a few years but now it's back. I get itchy hives as well with it.
Even one of the dogs gets hayfever whilst the other one gets itchy paws.
We're all swallowing varying brands of antihistamine!

Seems to be intermittent with me. Years ago I used to get it so bad I would have to take the day off work. No I'm not kidding or swinging the lead, but literally my eyes would puff up so I couldn't see. In the last few years though, I don't really suffer, although I can feel a little tight chested in London. I guess I'm allergic to pollution rather than pollen.
I've been taking Priteze, or the own-brand Boots, Lloyds or Tesco equivalent (they all have the same chemical, and the same Product Licence number)
not only does it cut down my itchy eyes and sneezing, it also stops my skin swelling up and itching round gnat bites, and it seems to stop me coughing when I have a bonfire.
