HBTM,HBTM,HBTM.....HBTM!!!

Thank you, yes.

I went to one of my favourite bits of the country.

When standing in this spot, in one direction, I could see this:

And when I turned 180 degrees, I could see this:

I have been there before, many times, so it isn't really difficult to work out!

For those who are really stuck, that cracked old bit of tarmac is a big clue...

There is one ship, sorry sheep in the bottom picture and two peoples in the top picture!

I'd like to be mid-thirties again!
So you can re-live you time on these boards?

Yes, of course!

I don't want to get too deep, but I have always said that if I had my time again, I would not do anything any different, as my life's experiences, both good and bad, have made me who I am today.

That stands true today, but the one thing I would do would be to try harder to keep my weight down.

Not that it makes any difference...I can't go back in time.

Happy birthday young man!

You make it sound that it is too late to keep your weight down.

Miracles have happened before.

Ah. I should have explained (a lot of regulars know) that I have a few illnesses that may have been avoided, lessened or postponed if I were a lesser weight.

Oh, sorry to hear that. I suppose I'm the same. I'm diabetic and sometimes wonder whether overeating or eating the wrong things years ago was the cause.

Piccies are out near the Blue John caverns somewhere?

Yeah, I'll give you that!

And the picture behind is that of the Mam Tor Hill.

I said the tarmac was a big clue... it was the A625 Mam Tor Road, now closed and has been since '79.

Here's a piccy of it when me and nose were 10:

Thanks to the Daily Mail website for the picture.

Quite sad really. I remember being driven up it (before it closed, of course!)

Whenever I hear of something being closed, my instant thought is 'How can I get to it?' I suppose I'm just an obtuse bugger.

In practical terms, how have they closed it to road traffic?
