When I worked at CP I was given a 'Benny' hat with a very bright LED on the front.
No batteries, you simply charged it up by pulling a small usb thing out the back and plugged that bit into your PC, (or wherever). It's in my car somewhere.

Did you have to carry a PC around with you instead of having batteries?

Don't use the built in charger as it will charge both. Better to charge 18650 on there own every time..

Samsung 25R 18650 Battery for under £4 each. Last lot from 18650 UK website with free delivery.

I prefer the lithium ion batteries as the last several years where as the standard AA rechargeable batteries seem to be die after a year. Just won't hold charge

Cheapest one you can find. I use them a lot for sea trout fishing and wild camping, but I keep losing the f***ing things, so cheaper the better!

I also have several cheap ones, all on throw away batteries. The last one I bought from Home Bargains a couple of years ago for not a lot. It works rather well for working at arms length, with a well spread bright beam, plus dimmer, plus the pointless annoying strobe mode. I keep it in the glove box of the car for emergencies and for finding my way around unlit camping sites when away in the caravan.
