Hi all,

Is it okay to place a heat alarm in the hallway and not a smoke alarm?

The reason being the current smoke alarm is right outside the kitchen door and whenever I am cooking it is always going off.

It is mains so would need to be in the same location.

Thank you

What alarm is existing? Might be worth a chat with the companies technical helpline. Heat alarms are not recommended in the hallway, but you could opt for a multi sensor fire alarm. Could you not close the door/open a window whilst cooking?

A very old existing normal mains smokes alarm. Not sure what brand it it! Its very close to the door and whatever I do sets it off. The iron is nearby and whenever I use it it sets of the smoke alarm
