Heater fans blowing air only on feet and windshield - Nissan Micra

I got my car serviced recently and since then I have noticed that despite the setting of the fan most of the air only blows on the feet (mostly from the sides) and the windshield. Barely any air blows from the front.

Any thoughts on why this may be? Could it be something done in the service or is that not very likely?

What year Micra? Could be something as simple as a control cable detached/broken from the heater direction control knob. What was done on the service? Pollen filter?

It's a 2003 Micra. It was a full service, I just checked the checklist and it has an n/a against pollen filter but a tick against air filter.

I wonder if they tried to replace it and knocked off the flap control wire?
The element is the type that has to be crushed to get it in place - never feels right, that one - and the control is a stiff bowden type wire that connects the top of the heater unit to the flaps up in the foot well.
