My central heating has packed in although I still have hot water and there appears to be no faults with the boiler.

Under my water tank next to the pump there are two motorised valve, one for the heating and one for the water. I was told by someone to flick the switch over on the heating motorised valved from auto to manual which has got the heating back on again.

I just wondered if anyone knows what this means exactly and how easy/expensive a proper repair will be?

Appreciate any feedback.

It could be as easy as a failed motor in the CH zone valve. Need to know the make of valve as a few cannot be replaced. Post back with a pic and a few more details.
