Hi I have a floor standing potterton kingfisher mf boiler about 8 years old.it's a gravity fed system with the programmer switching on the boiler for hot water and the heating switching an external pump for the radiators.this last few months hot water has been forcefully spewing out the open vent in the attic into the header tank for the heating.to the point it's covering my whole attic and the overflow can't deal with the rate it's filling the header tank so it's overflowing.the water is scalding hot.this happens every now and then the stat can be turned right down and it still overheats even though the stat cuTs it out other times.when it does happen it could only be on for twenty mins and you can hear the boiler banging and pipes banging all the way up to the attic.was just wondering if anyone had an idea of what's happening I have drained the system down and refilled and bled. It's not had a service in a while as the guy I get to do it hasn't managed thanks
