Is this a change from how long it took previously?

The time taken will depend on: how big the house is; how cold the house is when the heating is turned on; how cold it is outside; how quickly the heat is lost through walls, windows, floor and roof; how warm you want the house to be.

One hour could be OK; it depends on so many factors.

It's taking a lot longer than it used to.
1. Is this a sudden or a gradual change?
2. Have you made any changes to the central heating?
3. Are all the rads getting hot?
4. If not, are some hot at the bottom but cold at the top, or vice versa?
5. Have you had the boiler serviced within the last year? If not, get it done.

More info would also be helpful, e.g: Boiler Make/Model; Room Thermostat; Radiator Thermostats; Motorized Valve etc etc

Has boiler stat been turned down??

Is the room stat set correctly??

Is the pump set at the correct speed for the size of house??

Is the bypass valve set correctly??

Do you mean:

1. The radiators are taking longer to get up to temperature, or
2. It is taking longer for the house to get up to temperature?

Answers to the questions posted earlier would be very useful, so I have repeated them below:

3. Are all the rads getting hot?

4. If not, are some hot at the bottom but cold at the top, or vice versa?

5. Have you had the boiler serviced within the last year?

6. Has boiler stat been turned down?

7. Is the room stat set correctly?

8. If you have Thermostatic valves on the rads, are they working OK?
